FAQ
Q. In what states do your affiliates offer coverage?
A. Our affiliates accept business only in California at this time. Our plan is to eventually provide national access on a state-by-state basis where practical.

Q. Do your affiliates broker business for other agents?
A. NO. Our affiliates do not place coverage for other retail brokers. WorkComp.com is not accepting additional affiliates at this time. Please click here if you would like to be added to our email database should we add additional producers in the future.

Q. Can my existing broker do business through your affiliates?
A. Again, NO.

Q. What do I need in order to get a quote?
A. Our affiliates require your basic information: name/address, annual payroll, and 4 years of loss runs.

Q. What are loss runs?
A. Loss runs are documentation of your claim activity through your carrier. Even if there are no claims, the record will reflect that.

Q. How do I obtain loss runs?
A. If your existing broker or carrier does not automatically provide them to you, our affiliates can obtain them on your behalf. Otherwise, simply contact your carrier directly and request them. There is no charge involved. Our affiliates are glad to obtain them on your behalf at no charge; this is often the quickest method. Your signed authorization is required.

Q. How long does it take to get a quote?
A. Once the underwriting information is complete, a response may be available as short as same day or as long as two weeks. A few days is the average for accounts with favorable classifications and claims history.

Q. What carriers do you work with?
A. Our affiliates have access to the majority of the marketplace including exclusive, semi-exclusive and special programs. Prospective carriers can click here if they would like to appoint one of our affiliates to write business or administer their program(s) on our website.

Q. Can you service my existing policy?
A. In many cases, yes. However, we need to find out your particular carrier to advise you. While our affiliates have access to most markets, there may be some special cases where we don't.

Q. Can I switch carriers mid-term?
A. Yes, however it is prudent to compare all aspects to see if it makes sense. Besides rates, there are other factors that affect your policy such as penalties and experience modifications. Your existing carrier likely has the right to charge you a short rate penalty which can amount to an average of 10% of the unearned premium.

Q. Can I obtain a certificate of insurance for workers compensation online or verbally?
A. NO. Our affiliates can ONLY provide proof of coverage IN WRITING directly to you and only after a formal request is made by you.

Q. I have questions about injured worker benefits, how do I get answers?
A. If you are our client the appropriate affiliate broker will put you in contact with your particular carrier or try to assist you. Otherwise, please review the link below or contact your state?s Department of Industrial Relations, Department of Insurance or the: Workers Compensation Rating Bureau (California).

Q. Can our sponsored Group or Association do business with you?
A. We are interested in partnering with Groups and Associations; particularly those that desire private label or branding opportunities as well as member benefits. Click here for more information and contacts.
